The process

Importing to France, step by step

01

Choose and confirm

Pick a car from our inventory. The price shown is the full amount payable to us — the vehicle, shipping to Le Havre, and all Korean-side costs.

02

Inspection and purchase

Our team in Seoul inspects the car in person and sends you a photographic report. We buy only once you approve.

03

Shipping

The car sails from Korea to Le Havre, insured for its full value. Crossing time is around four weeks.

04

Customs and VAT

We clear the vehicle on arrival. You pay 20% France VAT — there is no customs duty on Korean-built cars.

05

Registration and delivery

You will need a certificat de conformité for the carte grise; we obtain it as part of the import file. We deliver to your address and supply every document ANTS / carte grise requires.

Worth knowing

No import duty into France

Korean-built cars enter the EU free of customs duty under the EU–Korea Free Trade Agreement. On a €25,000 car that is roughly €2,500 you do not pay. Your 20% VAT and registration are settled with the French authorities as normal.

Questions

Importing to France

Do I pay customs duty importing a Korean car to France?

No. Under the EU–South Korea Free Trade Agreement, cars manufactured in South Korea enter the EU at 0% customs duty. In France you pay 20% VAT and your registration costs — nothing further to customs. We supply the proof of Korean origin the exemption requires.

How long does delivery to France take?

Typically 32–42 days from purchase to your address. The vehicle sails to Le Havre, clears customs there, and is transported inland to you.

How do I register the car in France?

Registration goes through ANTS / carte grise. You will need a certificat de conformité for the carte grise; we obtain it as part of the import file. We provide the full document file — Korean registration certificate, export certificate, bill of lading, invoice and proof of origin — which is what the authority will ask for.

Which Korean models sell best in France?

Hyundai, Kia, Genesis are the makes our French customers ask for most. Korean domestic specification is usually higher than the equivalent European trim, which is much of the appeal.
